Crazy Drifting at Lydden Hill

Crazy Drifting at Lydden Hill. I thought Norfolk Arena Drift Practice was drifting fun at it’s best and it was great fun but this one at Lydden may of topped Norfolk Arena.
It was an eventful day to say the least……

It was a wet start at Lydden on the 26th of April but I was sure it was going to brighten up as the day went on! Had some wet sessions in the morning with my Blister Caz, which was great apart from not getting a full lap……drifters spinning of every damned where….

My bruv & Karen arrived around 11’ish. Got a text from Stel to say that she was on her way with a BBQ 😉 Things were looking brighter already!!!

The E30 Story Respect Your Elders

The E30 Story Respect Your Elders, ohh yes the legendary BMW E30 is a motoring icon from the 80s. The E30 was designed by Claus Luthe and built from 1982 to 1994 before been replaced by the E36.

This short film named “The E30 Story Respect Your Elders ” is about the E30 & was made by a team of BMW fans, taking 5 months to make. The film has recently reached recognition from BMW themselves, who have also tweeted the film.

King of the Ring the 1st Chapter of 2014

King of the Ring the 1st chapter of 2014, on the 5th of April! This year there had been a big build up to this event on facebook over the past few weeks. Will it live up to the hype?

Giving the Beamer a quick check over before going & seen that one of the rear brake discs had a few cracks in it………..was meant to change the discs & pads last week but never got around to doing it.

Good job I had the new discs & pads, the old ones wouldn’t have held together, that’s for sure! Quickly fitted them While Marsh thought he would start defacing the Bimmer!!!

F`ing slag not only stuck duct tape all over the bonnet but then sprayed grease on it so I couldn’t peel it of, well two can play at that game!

Karma can be a bitch fella 😉 Hahaha….. Continue reading

Back at Lydden Hill 4th Time Lucky

Back at Lydden Hill 4th time lucky, for some more drifting fun hehe. The 22nd of March! Hopefully it would all go smoothly this time! Last time at Lydden on my 3rd Session the damn throttle cable snapped……leaving me with a long drive home with a hand operated throttle in heavy traffic! Fun, I think not…

After a run of drifting misery over the past month due to destroying the sump at Arena Essex a few weeks ago! This is a major problem when fitting the M52 engine into a lowered e30, as the alloy sump will be the lowest point on the car & worse still its at the front….beware of big speed humps!

You need a sump from a E34 M50 525, these are getting hard to get now and you will be paying extortionate amount of money for it. Then fitting the sucker, not so easy with the engine fitted. This time I made up a sump guard for some protection!

On top of that, had another little crash at the arena last week, on the same bend & the same f`ing quarter panel…….it was looking bad, had to get to work on it with some panel beating, not perfect but not too bad 🙂

Drift Practice Gone Wrong at Arena Essex

Drift Practice Gone Wrong at Arena Essex…….What a shit f`ing drift practice this turned out to be…….Ever so short and Not so sweet!

Heading up the M11 towards Arena Essex with no traffic, arrived in no time at all. Signed in, paid up & went down to the pits. Taped up the lights, got the GoPro ready & queued up!

Time now for some drifting, drifting, drifting fun! Was having a great time & then on the last lap I spun of onto the dirt. As I rejoined the track, there was a massive bang, followed by loud banging and rattling…….not good……not good at all.

There was a dip in the dirt and the underneath of the car hit the f`ing Curb!

BMW e30 Engine Swaps

BMW e30 Engine Swaps, whats in your e30? The classic e30 BMW has been around for many years now, from 1982 to 1990. With its legendary handling characteristics due to the front engined rear wheel drive set up & with a relatively light body, it was and still is a sought after car.

From Drift missile to Original untouched classic, these amazing bits of German Engineering can be picked up from a few hundred pounds to £6000 plus for a minter!

The German engineered beasts from the east still have cult status after all these years, mainly due to the M3 powered cars and the many, many highly modified race cars and drift machines that have been built.

Many different engines have been transplanted into these little beauty’s over the years. With the conventional swaps from other BMW models to the more extreme swaps, where people have fitted M5 V10s & even V12s. Others have even risked offending the BMW community by fitting big Yank V8s or Japanese engines, with big turbos & big power….. Continue reading
