Father and Son Drifting fun. Is this the coolest dad ever? I reckon so, imagine when you were a 4 year old and your dad said “Son we are going drifting”. Most kids would of been over the moon….. Drifting would of been far better then any fair ride!.
Anton from Kazakhstan (Not related to Borat) took his 4 year old son out drifting over a year ago. Anton filmed the reactions with an on-board camera mounted on the dash and posted it on YouTube. Over a year later and this hilarious video has gone viral with over 1.6 million views.
Now a year later Anton has done another video with his drift loving son. This time the pair are drifting in Antons rwd subaru. Already the 2nd Father and son drift video has had over a million hits on YouTube.
Norfolk Arena Drift Practice at Kings Lynn, the 12th of April. I had been looking forward to this for a long time, a very long time.
It wasn’t until 9:30pm the night before that I got a reply from Hilary `Minnie` Collins to say she could fit me in….oohhh yes, I had the Beamer all prepped, loaded up, ready and waiting to go if I got a space!
Well all ready apart from getting the drift missile washed, she was ready but dirte 🙂
A big massive thanks again to Minnine, who is one of the organizers at Norfolk Arena drift days. Contact Hilary Minnie Collins on facebook to get booked in!
This was an early start for me, up and ready to go at 7`ish am! Headed up the M11 and hour and a half later including to fuel stops and I was there.
Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drifting. The 70s 426ci Dodge Challenger R/T is one of my all time favorite Muscle Cars! The new Dodge Challenger although I do like it has lost some of its character, as is usual with most modern day remakes of Legendary cars.
Until now, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat is what a Muscle Car is all about!
The SRT® Hellcat is out of the proverbial bag. 707 horsepower. Has a nice ring to it. And it has a bite that you won’t believe. Power. Period. End of discussion. A red key unlocks the full potential of this American dream. Once you hear the power, there’s no turning back.
Old vs New, a quarter mile challenge with Garage Monkeys Richard Rawlings in the Hellcat Challenger & Dennis Collins in the Original Dodge Challenger 426ci
Back at Lydden Hill 4th time lucky, for some more drifting fun hehe. The 22nd of March! Hopefully it would all go smoothly this time! Last time at Lydden on my 3rd Session the damn throttle cable snapped……leaving me with a long drive home with a hand operated throttle in heavy traffic! Fun, I think not…
After a run of drifting misery over the past month due to destroying the sump at Arena Essex a few weeks ago! This is a major problem when fitting the M52 engine into a lowered e30, as the alloy sump will be the lowest point on the car & worse still its at the front….beware of big speed humps!
You need a sump from a E34 M50 525, these are getting hard to get now and you will be paying extortionate amount of money for it. Then fitting the sucker, not so easy with the engine fitted. This time I made up a sump guard for some protection!
On top of that, had another little crash at the arena last week, on the same bend & the same f`ing quarter panel…….it was looking bad, had to get to work on it with some panel beating, not perfect but not too bad 🙂
Big Displacement Vs Forced Induction, what would you go for? Are you a Big Block drifter or Strap On Powered drifter?
There are always two sides to a coin!
With a big V8 you pretty much have power when ever you slam down the throttle, big V8 equals big torque, which is available from way low down in the revs range! Don’t forget the Noise from a mighty V8 is hard to beat…..
There isn’t really any disadvantages when running a V8 in your drift missile & if needs be you can also bolt on a couple turbos giving mind blowing power!!!
On the other hand a boosted engine can be tuned to produce massive BHP and big Big Torque figures but in a much narrower rev range then a V8. A disadvantage with the turbo powered car is that you will have to work harder at maintaining drifts but many drifters like this extra challenge.
At the end of the day its what ever gets you going, many people like myself just love the thunderous rumble you get from the mighty V8s others love the surging, pops, bangs and flames from a boosted motor and some love to mix the two together!!!
Let me know in the comments below what you would have in your Drift Missile, a Big Rumbling V8 or Flame throwing boosted motor???
Drift Practice Gone Wrong at Arena Essex…….What a shit f`ing drift practice this turned out to be…….Ever so short and Not so sweet!
Heading up the M11 towards Arena Essex with no traffic, arrived in no time at all. Signed in, paid up & went down to the pits. Taped up the lights, got the GoPro ready & queued up!
Time now for some drifting, drifting, drifting fun! Was having a great time & then on the last lap I spun of onto the dirt. As I rejoined the track, there was a massive bang, followed by loud banging and rattling…….not good……not good at all.
There was a dip in the dirt and the underneath of the car hit the f`ing Curb!
BMW e30 Engine Swaps, whats in your e30? The classic e30 BMW has been around for many years now, from 1982 to 1990. With its legendary handling characteristics due to the front engined rear wheel drive set up & with a relatively light body, it was and still is a sought after car.
From Drift missile to Original untouched classic, these amazing bits of German Engineering can be picked up from a few hundred pounds to £6000 plus for a minter!
The German engineered beasts from the east still have cult status after all these years, mainly due to the M3 powered cars and the many, many highly modified race cars and drift machines that have been built.
Many different engines have been transplanted into these little beauty’s over the years. With the conventional swaps from other BMW models to the more extreme swaps, where people have fitted M5 V10s & even V12s. Others have even risked offending the BMW community by fitting big Yank V8s or Japanese engines, with big turbos & big power….. Continue reading →
